About Us

The South Eastern Development Foundation (SEDF) incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2002. SEDF was created to stimulate economic development through the creation of a regional Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) for residents and businesses in Clay, Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha, Turner, and Union counties in southeastern South Dakota. SEDF expanded to housing in 2015 becoming a non-profit developer of Governor's Houses.

Strengthening communities and stimulating economic development through small business lending and affordable housing initiatives.

Governance
  • Governed by a five-member Board of Directors
    • Serves as the SEDF loan committee
    • Meet monthly, or as needed, to approve SEDF loans
  • SEDF also maintains a five-member Advisory Board
    • Meet quarterly 
    • Provides direct input to SEDF's governing board to help SEDF maintain accountability to its Target Market
